Rajinikanth’s shooting disrupted

Rajinikanth was shooting for his upcoming film Kuseylan in Kerala, when the filming was disrupted by nearly 25,000 fans, who turned up to watch the proceedings. A song sequence was being filmed on Rajinikanth, actresses Nayanthara and Mamta Mohandas morning at the famous Punnamada Lake with more than 90 artistes from various states dancing on snake boats and houseboats specially designed by Thotta Tharani. Unit sources revealed that more than 25,000 people had thronged the location to catch a glimpse of superstar but were disappointed because of special security arrangement of 100 guards by director P. Vasu.

However, when some media persons tried to come closer to the shooting spot in a small country boat, the proceedings got disrupted. Cameraman Arvind Krishna slipped and fell while jumping onto a houseboat from the raft he was shooting from. He was immediately rushed to the Alapuzha General Hospital with minor leg injuries and was asked to take a week’s rest. The shooting resumed after four hours with Arvind Krishna’s assistant taking over the camera. Talking to this newspaper, one of the actresses said, “There have never been so many onlookers present. Apparently, the crowds were because Alapuzha is a tourist spot and it’s a holiday season.”
